What is World Outreach Church?

Okay, we need to explain.

World Outreach is a church in Ankeny, Iowa. But we're not just a church like you might think. We're real people. We live real lives. We make mistakes. But what defines us is relationship with God and one another. Relationship unites us together as a family.

So, what does WOC mean?

It's simple. We are people who love God and are reaching out to Ankeny and the world with this love. We think what we have is life-changing and we want others to have it too.  We are about loving God, and serving people in a relevant way.  The Bible explains this in

I Corinthians 9:19, 22-23:

“Though free from all human control, I have made myself the slave of all in the hope of winning as many converts as possible. To the weak I have become weak, so as to gain the weak. To all men I have become all things, in the hope that in every one of these ways I may save some.  And I do everything for the sake of the Good News, that I may share with my hearers in its benefits.” 

And in Mark 16:15 Jesus commands the believers:

“Then He said to them, "Go the whole world over, and proclaim the Good News to all mankind.”

So, why does

World Outreach Church exist?

Everything we do revolves around four main goals:

Relationships. Gifts. Discipleship. Evangelism.

It's that simple. World Outreach exists to encourage people to reach out to other people and share God’s love. Within relationship with God and one another we can help other individuals discover and develop their specific gifts. Why? So believers can be discipled and the lost evangelized. That is our mission.

Our vision

Our vision is to lead this generation into a personal, passionate, and intentional relationship with Christ.  When we live this kind of life, we won’t be able to help but to tell other people.

Visiting a new place for the first time can be pretty intimidating. What will it be like? What should I wear? What's available for my kids? How do I get there? Where do I park? We hope we can answer some of your questions to make your experience an enjoyable one.

What will it be like?

We're a newer church that has truly become like a family. We know how intimidating it can be to walk into a big building that you've never been to before. However, we guarantee that the first face you'll see will have a smile on it. People love coming to World Outreach Church. Whether you're looking for childcare or a coffee, you'll find a greeter nearby to help you get to where you need to go.

What should I wear?

World Outreach is a relaxed atmosphere. You can wear jeans and a t-shirt or you can go all out with a suit and tie. It doesn't matter to us.

What's available for my kids?

We know your kids are important to you. And they're important to us as well. That's why we provide fun classes for all children ages newborn - 12 in all of our services. Find out more about our children’s services.

How do I get there?

We are located at the end of SW School Street.  SW School Street is off of 1st Street. Parking is available on the South side of our building.
